Aussie Recycling Greenacre

Aussie Recycling Greenacre

Overview

Aussie Skips Recycling Pty Ltd (Aussie Recycling) proposes to upgrade their existing waste storage facility at 13 Bellfrog St, Greenacre, NSW 2190 (the Site) to Resource Recovery facility. The proposal is State Significant Development and an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposal is currently being prepared for submission to the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.

The main aim of the proposed development is to shift from a predominantly soils storage facility to a building and demolition (skip bin) processing facility. Key aspects of the proposal include:

  1. Reduction in the authorised amount from 8,000 tonnes to 6,000 tonnes at any one time.
  2. Additional waste type – mixed building and demolition waste (skip bin waste).
  3. Installation of a material recycling plant for mixed waste processing under the awning.
  4. Extension to the existing awning to create a three sided enclosure over the recycling plant and modification to storage bay layouts.
  5. Extension of operating hours for specific activities.
  6. Installation of on site water mitigation valve to prevent discharge from the Site.
